Question by wondering: does ebay suck these days?…is the end of ebay near?
It used to be nice to shop on there but now everytime I load the site it just seems like a bunch of scams and reserved auctions…maybe I’m just being sour and it’s too early to think straight but I’ve lost my love for ebay with all the “Make Money on Ebay books” and all the sponsered results and reserve auctions ( what’s the point of a reserve?..it seems like a way to trick the consumer to bid on something even though that’s not what they want….)…so is ebay dying?, to me it is

In my opinion, eBay has been too big that the quality of the site is going down. There are so many other websites that provides a better quality of service and content layout. I recently bumped into one called http://www.barterpalace.com/

half the things I have bid on have been not what they were selling, and when I try to sell something that is genuine… I have no success. I don’t even know what to tell you on that one… let’s go on strike
It’s all a matter of demand. Maybe to yu it may suck because they are not selling what you want.

Hi – I am an established seller on eBay. eBay has been my full time job for 4 years, and I have sold over 12,000 items.
As far as I can tell, eBay is going strong. According to their annual report for 2006, eBay has 221 million users, 49% of which are outside of the US. The number of registered users grows by about 24% every quarter.
I don’t use a reserve either. I think it makes bidding confusing. I just set the starting price at whatever I need to make on an item and go from there.
As for all the eBay books, I agree with you. So many of them are scams. I am an honest seller. I got so sick of seeing all of those books, that I actually wrote my own how to sell on eBay book, and it has been published.
It is not one of those 1 cent eBooks with a bunch of non-information. Actually, it is a practical, no nonsense guide just for stay at home moms (like me) who just want to be able to make some extra money while we are at home raising kids. I don’t promise that you’ll make millions, I just try to help other moms. Here is a link to my book:
